The Burlington city council approved the proposed rate increase request on Monday, which will now be forwarded to the Vermont Public Service Board for approval. The increase would apply to electric service after May 1st.
At tonight’s city council meeting the issue of the local option sales appeared again in the form of a new resolution to put the question on the ballot, again. It’s basically the same proposal as last year, a 1% extra sales tax within Burlington, with the exception that this time there is no promise of property tax relief.
We began gathering signatures for my petition to be on the ballot. We went around Farrington Mobile Home Park, where Heavenly and I live.
