AOL Launches FREE on Demand TV Service

Lois and ClarkThat’s right, AOL has finally launched its In2TV service. AOL claims In2TV is the first broadband TV network, with the largest collection of free TV shows anywhere on the Web.

They have full-length TV episodes of about 30 shows such as Lois and Clark, Perfect Strangers, Head of the Class, Growing Pains, Freddy’s Nightmares, and Beetlejuice… all shows I used to watch growing up.

I’ve already viewed several episodes of my favorite shows. You can watch them anytime you want for free! They are ad-supported, but they have far less advePerfect Strangersrtising than regular television.  Most likely due to the far less overhead of providing programming online and the fact that the production costs for these shows were paid for many years ago.

I think In2TV’s service is great for those who would like to watch some of their favorite older shows, but cannot afford cable. I think this service is just the beginning for them, as they plan to add much more over time.  I think AOL is just testing the waters with this project and has only begun.
